The Community Research, Equity, and Design (CReED) Collective
A research lab at the University of Maryland is dedicated to community-centered research, focusing on the role of emerging technologies, such as generative AI, in professional and educational settings. We strive to amplify the voices of those who are often excluded from conversations about technology development. Our vision is to connect critical theory with empirical community-centered evidence to transform infrastructures for equity and justice.
Our Mission
Center the voices of marginalized populations.
We amplify and prioritize perspectives that are too often overlooked in research and design.
Engage in community-centered research.
Our work is grounded in
collaboration with communities,
ensuring that research addresses
their real needs and aspirations.
Co-design methods, systems, and ecosystems.
We build together—developing
approaches, technologies, and
environments in partnership
with those most impacted.
